James is a multi-talented musician, composer, and producer known for his passion for musical performance, his unique approach to music and video production, and his dedication to promoting Peace Country music and musicians. He documents the local music scene through his Instagram account: on_the_music_beat, and releases music through his own label, the Papillion Record Company.

Whether performing as a solo act, in a duo with his brother, or with a collection of friends, James’ music is a combination of traditional folk wrapped around pure vocals and haunting lyrics. He has performed at the Bear Creek Folk Festival, the Bluesky Music Festival, the Grande Gathering Gala, the President’s Black and White Ball, and the Blue Moon Folk Club.

James has won several awards including the Northwestern Polytechnic Young Influencer Award which “celebrates the achievements of young alumni, 30 years of age or younger, who are creating meaningful change in their community or profession. Emerging leaders who inspire through their innovation, initiative, and impact”.
